PG Dept of Pathology GMC Jammu hosts successful Pathcon Adhyay 2 Conference | KNO

Jammu, May 22 (KNO): The Postgraduate Department of Pathology, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, under the aegis of the JK Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM), successfully hosted the Pathcon Adhyay 2 Conference Wednesday at the NMCN Hall, GMC Jammu. As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Professor Department of Pathology GMC Jammu, Organizing Secretary and Secretary of the JK IAPM, delivered the welcome address and extended her warm greetings to the august gathering, wishing them a productive and interactive day. The event was inaugurated by Principal and Dean GMC Jammu, Dr. Prof. Ashutosh Gupta. Dr. Subhash Bhardwaj, Professor and Head of the Department of Pathology, Organizing Chairperson and Chairperson JK IAPM felicitated Dr. Ashutosh. The conference featured a series of enlightening presentations from several distinguished speakers, including Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Dean and Principal GMC Jammu, Dr. Subhash Bhardwaj , Head of Department, Pathology, Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr. Vishal Tandon Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Dr. Sindhu Sharma, Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr. Deepa Hans, Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr Rajeev Gupta Professor Oncology, Dr. Bharti Thaker, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr. Navneet Naz, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, Dr. Anu Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology and Dr. Akhtar Salaria, Lecturer, Department of Pathology. These experts shared their insights on various topics and discussed several interesting cases in pathology. The sessions were chaired by senior faculty members of GMC Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Doda and Udhampur as well as from ASCOMS Jammu, ensuring a robust academic discourse. The sessions were enriched by valuable inputs from the diligent faculty of Pathology GMC Jammu namely Dr Ruchi Khajuria Professor, Dr. Deepti Mahajan Professor,Dr.Rupali Bargotra Professor, Dr Ameet Kaur Associate Professor, Dr Deepti Gupta Associate Professor, Dr. Abhimanyu Assistant Professor, Dr. Roopali Assistant Professor Dr Suby, Dr Kamakshi, Dr Era, Dr Priyanka, Dr Bhavneet Lecturers. The event was also graced by the presence of several eminent professionals, including Dr. Pawan Malhotra, Principal, ASCOMS Jammu, Dr. Surinder Atri, Principal GMC Kathua, Dr. Arvind Khajuria, HOD, Department of Pathology, ASCOMS, Dr.Yudhvir Gupta Ex HOD and Professor Pathology, Dr. KK Kaul Ex HOD and Professor Pathology, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Ex Principal GMC Rajouri and Professor Pathology, Dr, KC Goswami Professor Department of Pathology ASCOMS Jammu, Dr. Anita Singh ASCOMS, Dr. Archana Gupta, ASCOMS, Dr. Anuja, ASCOMS, Dr. Meenakshi Khajuria, HOD, Department of Pathology, GMC Rajouri, Dr. Mahima Sharma, HOD, Department of Pathology, GMC Udhampur, Dr. Sumat ul Khurshid HOD Department of Pathology GMC Doda, Dr. Poonam Sharma Associate Professor and I/C HOD Pathology AIIMS Vijaypur, Faculty members from the Department of Pathology, GMC Kathua and faculty members from ASCOMS, GMC Doda, Kathua, Rajouri and GMC Udhampur. Many postgraduates and senior residents from various departments of GMC Jammu and ASCOMS presented their posters which were judged by Dr (Prof)Meena Sidhu HOD Transfusion Medicine, Dr. (Prof)Sandhya Arora HOD Forensic Medicine, Dr ((Prof) Sandeep Dogra HOD Microbiology, Dr. Sumat ul Khurshid GMC Doda, Dr. Meenakshi Khajuria GMC Rajouri and Dr Vidhu Mahajan GMC Kathua. The best poster presentations across three sessions were awarded cash prizes and mementos for first and second positions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rajat Gupta, Co-Organizing Secretary and Associate Professor, Department of Pathology GMC Jammu Dr. Rajat expressed his gratitude to all the participants and supporters who contributed to the success of the conference.
